Application:

Maltol is a flavor enhancer extensively used in food, beverage, tobacco, brewery, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals industries.  When combined  with other substances, Maltol will increase and sustain their sweetness and fragrance. It is also used to formulated additives for food, cigarettes and cosmetics.


Reference Usage

Soft drinks: 4.1 mg/L

Ice cream, frozen products: 8.7 mg/kg

Bakery: 30 mg/kg

Pudding: 7.5 mg/kg

Jelly: 90 mg/kg

Fragrance intensifier: 50-250 mg/kg
